Welcome to Families with Children

The program is open to families with children under the age of 18 or expecting a child. You must not already live in Hammerfest Municipality or own a home there.

What Do You Get?

• Free municipal housing for one year
• Half-price rent for the second year
• After that, you pay the regular municipal rent if you stay in the same home, or you may purchase the home at market value
• Guaranteed access to school and kindergarten

Each family will be assigned a mentor and invited to social and cultural events to help you get to know the local community.

Hammerfest Municipality can also assist with information about job opportunities, starting your own business, or facilitating remote work where possible.

What Do You Need to Do?

You must submit an application explaining your background and how long you wish to try living in Kokelv. Priority is given to applicants with concrete plans for employment or business activity in the municipality. Applications are processed continuously.

If your application is approved, you must officially move to Kokelv in Hammerfest Municipality for the entire trial period.

Application deadline: Sunday, November 16

Applications will be reviewed after the deadline has passed. We will contact candidates who are considered suitable.
